About the Club
Bluecoat Badminton Club is a small group of adults (aged 16+) who get together to play Badminton one night a week. We play at Bluecoat School and have been doing so for about 26 years. We play for fun and fitness and enjoy meeting new people. If you would like to join us, drop us a line or come and find us the next time we are playing.
There is an annual subscription scheme in place that allows us to pay for court time. If you do want to join us, we will ask you to pay £4 a session for a maximum of 4 sessions. To continue playing after this period you must pay for a full subscription* for the remainder of the year. We don’t make any profit, all the money raised goes towards court time and club events.
Bluecoat Badminton Club was formed in 1984 by a couple of friends who just fancied playing a few games of badminton. Soon there were a regular group of players and Bluecoat School became the home court. To ensure every member is able to play the number of places is limited. We are currently taking on new members, so if you have aproached us before and been turned away due to over subscription, please get in touch.
We get together to play on a Tuesday evening between 7:45pm and 9:45pm to play mixed doubles. The season is 40 weeks out of the year and dates are usually dictated by school holidays and school opening times. Please check the Calendar page for regular updates and information about upcoming events.
* Current annual subscription is £60. Members that join after the start of the season will be be charged an adjusted rate based on the number of weeks remaining in the current season
